After graduating, he worked as a photo assistant on commercial, TV, and film shoots. This is where he honed his skills behind the camera. His visually striking photography quickly gained recognition, leading to features in global advertising campaigns for major brands.
In 2012, Matthew transitioned into directing commercials, combining his love for storytelling with his growing interest in new filming technologies. His innovative approach quickly set him apart, and his work caught the attention of top brands. Over the years, he has directed commercials for clients such as LL Bean, McDonald’s, Nike, and Ford. Each project reflects his ability to push creative boundaries while delivering impactful, emotionally resonant content.
In 2022, Matthew launched Manhire Media, an independent creative company that specializes in virtual production for commercials, film, and TV. He is passionate about leveraging cutting-edge production techniques to create immersive and dynamic experiences for audiences. Under his leadership, Manhire Media has become a leader in virtual production, offering new possibilities for storytelling and visual innovation in the advertising world.
In addition to his commercial work, Matthew directed the award-winning short film FLAMES. The film has garnered critical acclaim at international film festivals, including Best Director at the Berlin Indie Film Festival and Best Short at Toronto’s CIFT Fest. FLAMES continues to tour the global festival circuit and will soon be available for wider viewing, solidifying Matthew’s place as a visionary in both commercial and film production.
