Next Generation Nuclear Fuel
Oklo was preparing for one of the most watched public market debuts in the clean energy space. The advanced fission technology company – backed by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman as chairman — was going public via merger with AltC Acquisition Corp., and the pre-IPO roadshow needed to make the investment case crystal clear to institutional investors.
This was not a typical marketing exercise. It was a high-stakes moment where clarity, credibility, and execution would directly impact capital formation. Cardboard Spaceship partnered with Oklo to produce a pre-IPO roadshow that translated a complex energy platform into a focused, investor-ready narrative.
The Challenge
Oklo operates at the intersection of nuclear physics, energy infrastructure, and climate technology. Its Aurora powerhouse — a compact fast-fission reactor designed for scalable, carbon-free power — represents a fundamentally new approach to energy. Translating that level of technical complexity into a narrative that resonates with Wall Street, not just engineers, is inherently difficult.
At the same time, the content needed to meet the expectations of a public markets audience: precise, credible, and tightly structured. The margin for error was low.
Execution
We take a comprehensive approach to producing pre-IPO video productions. For Oklo, it was important to really understand the value proposition – their service, products, and overall mission, to ensure we captured the essence of the company in every frame.
Before production began, Cardboard Spaceship worked in close collaboration with investment bankers, Oklo’s investor relations team, and executive leadership to shape the story. The approach was straightforward: strip away unnecessary complexity and focus on clarity. Every element was built to serve investor understanding – technology, regulatory pathway, scalability, and long-term market positioning – not distract from it.
Our goal was to create a narrative that not only informed investors but also compelled them. It was important for us to focus on highlighting Oklo’s unique value proposition and potential for growth.
A structured filming approach allowed Oklo’s leadership to communicate clearly and confidently on camera, while supporting visuals reinforced the company’s technical and strategic position. The goal was to capture the essence of the company in every frame – its mission, its technology, and the scale of its opportunity.
Cardboard Spaceship led every phase – from pre-production planning, script development, and concepting through filming, editing, post-production, and animation. The result: a complete, investor-ready asset built for the highest-stakes audience in business.
Beyond the roadshow itself, Cardboard Spaceship repurposed footage from the production to create a digital ad placement in Times Square during Oklo’s NYSE listing day (May 10, 2024) – extending the campaign’s impact into a high-visibility cultural moment.
The Result
The roadshow supported Oklo’s successful transition to public markets:
- NYSE listing – Oklo began trading under ticker OKLO on May 10, 2024
- Investor-ready narrative – a complex fission technology platform translated into a story institutional investors could follow and evaluate
- Executive credibility – clean, controlled production that reflected the seriousness of the opportunity
- Times Square activation – listing day digital ad placement amplifying the brand moment
- Market positioning – Oklo entered public markets with a communication asset that matched the scale of its ambition
The roadshow gave Oklo more than a video – it gave them a clear, compelling tool to support investor conversations at the most critical moment in the company’s history.
